Zangtopelri Phuntsholing

Zangto Pelri Lhakhang is a Buddhist temple located in the town of Phuntsholing, which is in the southwestern part of Bhutan. The temple is dedicated to Guru Rinpoche, also known as Padmasambhava, who is a revered figure in Bhutanese Buddhism.

The name “Zangto Pelri Lhakhang” translates to “heavenly abode of Guru Rinpoche”. The temple is known for its beautiful architecture, which incorporates traditional Bhutanese elements such as intricate wood carvings and paintings.

Inside the temple, there are several statues of Guru Rinpoche and other Buddhist deities. The walls are adorned with murals depicting scenes from Buddhist mythology. Visitors can also see a replica of Guru Rinpoche’s meditation cave, which is said to have been located in a nearby mountain.

Zangto Pelri Lhakhang is a popular destination for both tourists and locals, and it is considered to be one of the most important religious sites in Phuntsholing.
