Nimalung Lhakhang

Nimalung Lhakhang is a Buddhist temple located in the Chumey Valley of Bumthang District in central Bhutan. The temple was built in the 16th century by the famous Bhutanese saint, Pema Lingpa, who is revered as a great treasure revealer in Bhutanese religious history.

The temple is situated amidst beautiful surroundings, including lush green forests and snow-capped mountains, and is known for its stunning architecture and intricate wood carvings. It is also known for its collection of ancient Buddhist scriptures and manuscripts, many of which are written on handmade paper and are several centuries old.

Nimalung Lhakhang is an important pilgrimage site for Bhutanese Buddhists, and is visited by devotees from all over the country, especially during auspicious days and festivals. The temple is also a center for Buddhist learning and education, and hosts several retreats and seminars throughout the year.

One of the most important festivals celebrated at Nimalung Lhakhang is the Nimalung Tsechu, which is held in the 5th lunar month of the Bhutanese calendar. During the festival, monks and laypeople gather at the temple to witness traditional dances and performances, and to receive blessings and teachings from the lamas.
