Bumthang Brewery

Bumthang Brewery is a craft brewery located in the Bumthang Valley of central Bhutan. It was established in 2007 by Swiss brewer Fritz Maurer, who had a vision of bringing high-quality beer to Bhutan.

The brewery produces a range of beers, including lagers, ales, and wheat beers, using locally sourced ingredients such as barley, wheat, and hops. Bumthang Brewery’s beers are made using traditional brewing techniques and are designed to complement the flavors of Bhutanese cuisine.

In addition to producing beer, Bumthang Brewery also offers tours and tastings for visitors who are interested in learning about the brewing process and sampling the different varieties of beer. The brewery has a spacious tasting room where visitors can enjoy their beers while taking in the beautiful views of the Bumthang Valley.

Bumthang Brewery is a unique and innovative addition to Bhutan’s cultural landscape, providing locals and visitors alike with a taste of high-quality craft beer. The brewery is committed to sustainable practices and has implemented a range of measures to reduce its environmental impact, including using solar panels to generate electricity and recycling its wastewater.
