Dochula Pass is a mountain pass located on the way from Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan, to Punakha, a popular tourist destination. The pass is situated at an altitude of 3,100 meters and offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
One of the main attractions of Dochula Pass is the Druk Wangyal Chortens, a cluster of 108 chortens or stupas that were built in 2004 to honor Bhutanese soldiers who died in a military operation against Indian rebels in 2003. The chortens are located on a hilltop near the pass and are considered to be a symbol of peace, prosperity, and harmony.
In addition to the chortens, Dochula Pass is also known for its beautiful scenery and picturesque views. On a clear day, visitors can see the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas in the distance, as well as the green valleys and forests below.
